What should I do if I get an accident?

Accidents can happen anywhere and at any time. It is something that we don't have control over but what can be done when an accident happens can be decided by us. But first things first, once you receive your auto insurance policy, you need to understand the type of coverage you have and what all is covered in it. There are some insurance policies that will provide coverage for collision with another vehicle and not for accidents with stationary objects like lamp post or a tree. So it is always advisable to know the various clauses in your insurance policy. If you happen to get in an accident then you should follow the below mentioned steps:

Start by determining the true extent of damages or Injuries: Sometimes in the heat of the situation, you overlook a damage area or the extent of injuries. Of course accidents are nerve wracking and can incapacitate your thinking ability at that point of time. It is extremely important to stay calm as panic cam make the existing situation worse.
